IPL Auction

IPL 2022 is the T20 sporting event that everyone in India is looking forward to. Ten teams will participate in the Premier League. This year, two newcomers, Lucknow and Ahmadabad, have been added to the list. These two new franchises will participate in the competition, which will make the event even more interesting and exciting. 

IPL 2022 Auction Date and Time

Due to the arrival of two new teams, there will be a mega auction before the start of IPL 2022. The exact IPL auction 2022 date is not yet known. Most likely IPL 2022 auction will be held in early January 2022. This event is no less expected by the spectators than the championship itself. It is a great opportunity for them to get to know all the players of the teams.

IPL 2022 Players List

According to the rules, the IPL auction 2022 players list can be enhanced by four team members. It can be either two Indian and two foreign players or three Indian and one foreign player. These rules are set by BCCI and cannot be changed.

 

The two teams that will start playing this year can choose 3 players from the pool. There should be two Indian athletes and only one foreign player. New teams have a chance to get these professional athletes on their roster:

  • Chennai Super Kings (reigning champions) — Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad;
  • SunRisers Hyderabad — Umran Malik, Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad;
  • Delhi Capitals — Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, Prithvi Shaw;
  • Kolkata Knight Riders — Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine;
  • Rajasthan Royals — Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal;
  • Mumbai Indians —  Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kieron Pollard;
  • Punjab Kings — Mayank Agarwal, Arshdeep Singh;
  • RCB —  Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj.

IPL 2022 Retained Players List

The teams’ retention lists for the 2022 competition were announced on November 30, 2021. It has been a long time since the 8 playing teams found it difficult to form their retention lists as they did not want to part with many outstanding athletes.
